Dear Parishioners, Many of you know me as a long-time parishioner at St. Patrick Church involved in several ministries (Parish Council, Lector & Eucharistic Minister, Adult Choir to name a few). Few may know I am discerning to be a Permanent Deacon, my studies ending mid-year in 2022; and if ordained, Archbishop Cordileone may very well assign me to my home parish of St. Patrick. As part of my discernment, I will be leading Bible and Scriptural study opportunities, one of which I would like to share now. During this Lenten Season I will be facilitating a Lenten Bible Study in virtual (Zoom) format. It begins on February 24th from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and continues each Wednesday evening for five (5) weeks and is open to all parishioners. The purpose of this Lenten study is to preview the Sunday Mass scriptural readings and through collective discussion, deepen and enhance our understanding of scripture and how it may be applied in our own lives. Through the Holy Spirit, we give life to reading and discussing scripture such that it comes to live within us. There is nothing you need to do to attend, other than to have a Bible handy and send me an email requesting a Zoom link inviting you to our call. You’re welcome to pre-read upcoming Sunday Mass Scripture on-line and I can share the readings electronically if needed. The unique perspective of each one of you and a willingness to share is our only requirement. Depending on the size of our group, we may create Chat Rooms for smaller group discussion to provide greater opportunity to share reflections before rejoining the larger group. Thank you for your attention and interest, and I look forward to your emails requesting the link and, of course, any questions … markpmc8@gmail.com Yours in Christ,
