Sacred music is a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art. The main reason for this pre-eminence is that, as sacred song united to the words, it forms a necessary or integral part of the solemn liturgy. - Pope Benedict XVI

St. Patrick's Choir is engaged in a unique ministry, serving God through music to enhance the Mass themes, honoring the legacy of the past and exploring beautiful contemporary works. We endeavor to grow both individually as singers and as a group of well-blended voices. We strive to sing with reverend attention to the words, enthusiasm, precision, and beauty. All of this is accomplished in an atmosphere of deep respect and great joy.

We sing at all 10:00 AM Masses except on the fourth Sunday of each month. Each year, we also present a concert at Christmas. We are occasionally available to sing at memorial services, special liturgies, and some community events. We practice every Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., one hour before each Mass, and one extra evening in the weeks before Christmas and Easter. Choir members who do not read music frequently bring recording devices to rehearsals to assist in their learning the pieces. Occasionally, CD’s are made available to us, and most works can be found on YouTube.

Added to great camaraderie, there is an overall sense of growth due to the two very fine professionals we have working with us: Deborah Benedict, our director, and Andrew Dixon, our accompanist. Come one Thursday evening to see if you would like to be part of this wonderful parish work.
